Cass County Electric Cooperative awards two grants

Cass County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a member of the Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC). Communities in our service area are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $2,000 for community-based projects. RDFC is making these funds available so that more people become aware of their larger loan program that funds community-based projects and non-profit entities with low-interest loans.

Cass County Electric Cooperative has recently granted $300 to Harwood Fire & Rescue. Harwood Area Fire & Rescue is an all-volunteer department organized in 1983 and comprised of a roster of 25 active members. These residents are on-call 24 hours a day, ready to assist. These dedicate volunteers donate their time without compensation, and all fire protection funds go into improving fire and rescue protection. The grant funds will go towards the purchase of new turnout gear.

Cass County Electric Cooperative has also granted $500 to the Cass County 4-H. The grant funds will be put towards the purchase of new archery and air rifle equipment and for the repairs of current supplies.
