Above normal precipitation is possible over the next six to 10 days, according to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center’s latest graphics. Depending on the amount and type of precipitation, the flooding forecast could change.

The National Weather Service, in Grand Forks, says that, other than snow light snow across Lake of the Woods, the end of the week will be quiet but turning colder. Saturday morning lows will drop into the single digits below zero.

Snow then develops west of the area and may move into Devils Lake by late Saturday evening. Snow is expected to spread across the area on Sunday and finally begin to taper down late Monday.

“Although snow accumulations are likely and some travel impacts possible, it is too early to tell how much snow will fall by Monday evening,” the weather service warns. “Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for the latest updates on the upcoming weekend weather.”

As of early Wednesday afternoon, a 30 percent chance of snow persists from Saturday evening through Tuesday, with the greatest chances on Sunday into Sunday night.
