Essentia Health is limiting visitors at its senior care facilities, following guidelines from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in order to limit the potential transmission of COVID-19.
“We are postponing gatherings and events, screening anyone entering our facilities and limiting access to our facilities,” officials said in a press release Friday.
The following restrictions are in place:
- Routine social visits are restricted until further notice.
- Our senior care communities (nursing homes, senior apartments and assisted living facilities) will restrict access to essential visitors only. Specifically, this means limiting visits to those related to a change in a resident’s condition or a loved one being at the end of life.
- Essential visits will be limited to the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Everyone entering the building will undergo screening at the designated building entrance.
The restrictions are in effect in Essentia’s senior care communities in Fosston, Detroit Lakes and Graceville.
