Final Section of the 4th Street South Project Work Zone Will Close to Traffic Monday

Beginning Monday, August 27, contractors for the City of Fargo 4th Street South Road and Water Main Improvement project will extend the south portion work zone of 4th Street South as they move into phase five of project work. Once phase five begins 4th Street S will be closed to traffic from 13th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South. Single through lane of east and west crossing of 4th Street S between 8th-10th Avenues South will be maintained. The closure includes work on 13th Avenue S to the west of 4th Street. The intersection of 6th Avenue S and 4th Street S will remain open to traffic, area businesses and park access.

Additionally, the north portion of 4th Street S between the middle of Prairie St. Johns parking lot to 2nd Street South is closed to traffic as part of the area roadway reconstruction project. Access to the Dike West parking lot and Prairie St. Johns is maintained through Prairie St. Johns south driveway during construction.

Crews are currently working on underground work installing new water main and storm sewer through phase three and seven of the work zone. Once phase five closes to traffic, crews will begin pavement removals on 4th Street S halfway between 9th Avenue and 8th Avenue South to 6th Avenue S.
