Fargo Cass Public Health transitions server training program to online classes

In an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and to follow social distancing recommendations issued by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) will temporarily transition all Server Training classes to the online option. The online option is available to both servers who need to take the class for the first time and for those who need to renew their current card. On March 19, Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney ordered all City of Fargo facilities closed to the public until further notice.

Preston Nesemeier, Server Training Class Coordinator, says, “The temporary transition of Server Training to online classes allows our organization to continue to provide the class to servers but also to practice social distancing recommendations by not hosting large gatherings.”

Server Training is an alcohol misuse prevention class that teaches safe serving techniques and best practices to avoid over-serving alcohol. Servers who need the class should visit www.myservertraining.org to create an account, complete the registration process and pay for a class.

FCPH urges residents to use social distancing, along with basic prevention measures, to prevent greater community spread of COVID-19. Social distancing includes avoiding groups of more than 10 people as well as unnecessary shopping and travel. Prevention measures include washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, staying home when sick, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and avoiding close contact with those who are sick.
