Altru Health System building on hold – for now

Altru Health System, based in Grand Forks, announced on Friday that its building project has been placed on hold, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“People understand what needs to happen from an organization standpoint,” Altru Health System President Dr. Steven Weiser says.

Altru will continue to regularly monitor the operational impact of the COVID-19 spread and will resume hospital construction when deemed appropriate by its Board and leadership team. “We will have a new hospital,” said Weiser. “We look forward to resuming construction and building the hospital our community and region needs and our patients, physicians and staff deserve.”

Weiser says the resumption of the project will depend on the current COVID-19 pandemic and when the hospital can go back to normal operations.
