DOJ’s Bureau of Justice assistance awards COVID-19 emergency grant to Cass County

 

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) awarded a COVID-19 emergency grant of $58,008 to Cass County. These funds come through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program as authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

The CESF Program will provide a total of $850 million to states, local governments, and tribes to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. This includes overtime pay, equipment (including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment), hiring, supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), training, travel expenses, and addressing the medical needs of inmates. Learn more here.
