Months of hard work and preparation, hours of physical and mental exertion, and one professionally installed rock climbing wall have all led up to this moment for Fargo Moorhead’s first local outfitter. Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Nature of the North had scheduled a grand opening at the end of this month. Due to current public health concerns, the opening date has been postponed, but organizers still want to celebrate their progress with community members.
Nature of the North will host a virtual open house live on their Facebook page for those wanting more information on the company’s plans for their new retail location and building the area’s outdoor community. Get to know the team and join them for a virtual tour of the new headquarters, including a demo of the bouldering wall with details of the building process, route setting, programming, memberships, and more.
“If we can’t bring people to the space, we’ll bring the space to them instead,” said Jon Walters, Nature of the North founder. “This has been an interesting time, but we are all making the best of it and utilizing the resources we have. Life might be on pause, but the work definitely isn’t! We have to be ready to rock once all this is over.”
Membership details will be announced during the event, providing interested persons an opportunity to support the company during COVID-19 and secure a spot on the wall once doors open. Viewers will also receive prizes throughout the open house including Nature of the North merchandise and a climbing pass. A Q&A session will conclude this online session via the Facebook live chat.
“We’re excited to see everyone’s eagerness to get involved after this hibernation,” said Walters, “but in the meantime, we’re doing our best to host virtual workshops and events to keep spirits high!”
