The Red River Zoo will be reopening this Saturday, May 2. The zoo’s daily operating hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“We make this decision in conjunction with Governor Doug Burgum's ND Smart Restart initiative,” Red River Zoo officials said. “For the safety of our guests, staff, and animal collection, our processes will exceed governmental guidelines for reopening.”
To err on the side of safety, many of the Zoo's buildings, including the Carousel Pavilion, will not be open at this time.
“We have put into place social distancing guidelines throughout the Zoo,” zoo officials said. “Guests are encouraged to wear face masks and stay at least six feet apart from other groups.”
The zoo is ready to open.
“We are happy to provide 32 acres of beautiful outdoor space for community members seeking respite during what has been a very trying time for our community,” officials said.
