Crews will be opening the Grand Forks City Landfill for free drop off for Grand Forks City residents from Saturday, May 9 through Saturday, May 16 except for Sunday May 10th when the landfill will be closed. The landfill will be open from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm each day of the free drop off.
Residents will be asked to stay in their vehicles and bring a copy of their utility bill or proof of address to verify your residence. While in their vehicle, residents will show their proof of address through the window to the attendant. Residents will then unload their own items into the proper containers.
Residents will be asked to wait their turn to unload their items. We ask that children and pets remain in the car. No scavenging will be allowed.
The City’s intention is to reschedule a free curbside pickup later this summer or fall, dates to be determined.
Utility Bills for the month of May will be distributed late next week. Remember a copy of your utility bill or other proof of address will be needed for the free drop off.
The Grand Forks City Landfill Drop off Facility is located at 2701 N. 69th St. (west on Hwy. 2 to N. 69th St. Go north for 1 mile. The facility is on the left).
