LM Wind Power remains closed

The LM Wind Power plant, subject of a large COVID-19 outbreak in April, continues to remain closed, according to a company spokesman.

Timothy Brown, spokesman for GE, who owns the plan, confirmed the news to WZFG Radio early Friday morning.

“The safety of our employees remains our number one priority,” Brown said in an e-mail to WZFG Radio. “We will re-open the plant when we are sure the appropriate safety measures are in place.”

In April, more than 140 employees of LM Wind Power tested positive for COVID-19.
