Fargo Parks playgrounds, play structures to remain closed until at least May 21

The Fargo Park District reviewed their closures of playgrounds and play structures at their monthly meeting on Tuesday.

The Park District gave its staff the directive to work in coordination with Fargo Public Schools, West Fargo Public Schools and the West Fargo Park District on a reopening plan to open playgrounds and play structures in a collaborative effort. The directive Tuesday says the Park District may not open playgrounds and play structures any earlier than Thursday, May 21.

The playgrounds and play structures were originally closed in April due to heightened concerns surrounding the potential risk of COVID-19.

Parks, trails and green spaces, which provide adequate room for physical distancing, remain open for the public to use. The Park District says these are to be used responsibly to protect public health and safety. Any remaining Fargo Parks facilities, programs and amenities will reopen in phases, in accordance with the guidance from health officials, the Park District said.
