FargoDome Lighting Outage Explained

Rob Sobolik, General Manager at the FargoDome, tells WZFG News that the Dome has investigated the lighting outage that affected Saturday’s NDSU Bison football game.

Sobolik says the outage has been attributed to the lighting processor that controls the arena lights.

“It appeared to be going offline and shut down the football lights,” Sobolik says. “The delay in the football lights coming back on was due to their need to cool down, prior to the bulb re-firing.”

Sobolik says the processor has been replaced with a different one, the replacement processor has been programmed to handle the control of the arena lights.

The outage lasted nearly 30 minutes.
