Cass County to hold virtual meetings

The public will be able to access next Monday’s Flood Sales Tax Committee Meeting, the Human Services Board Meeting and the Cass County Commission Meeting by visiting www.casscountynd.gov/meetings. The public will find information there on how to watch each meeting. Click the appropriate links provided and use Microsoft Teams to view the meetings live.

For anyone that plans to participate remotely in the Commission Meeting and appeal a case to the County Board of Tax Equalization, they will need to email Paul Fracassi at fracassipatcasscountynd [dot] gov

to receive a private invitation to the meeting and to organize your participation. If you do not contact Mr. Fracassi before Monday, you will not be able to provide comments remotely during the County Board of Tax Equalization meeting.

All three meetings will take place on Monday, June 1. The Flood Sales Tax Committee Meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m., the Human Services Board Meeting will start at 2:00 p.m. and the Commission Meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m.

On March 30, 2020 Governor Doug Burgum issued Executive Order 2020-16 amending Open Meeting requirements for public bodies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The order allows governing bodies to provide a call-in number or electronic link that gives real time or livestreaming public access to meetings rather than physical access to meeting locations. This is a response to public health needs and social distancing recommendations and will be in effect for the duration of the declared state of emergency.
