West Fargo June Cruise Night canceled

Due to national and state recommendations to limit gathering sizes to minimize the spread of coronavirus, West Fargo's June Cruise Night (Thursday, June 18, 2020) is canceled. Currently, the North Dakota Smart Restart large gathering guidelines strongly recommends limiting gathering sizes to 250 attendees and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that overall number of attendees and density of attendees are critical factors for determining the safety of an event.

Typical Cruise Nights see thousands of attendees across a seven-block stretch of Sheyenne Street where crowds often become dense. Because the intention of the event is to provide a free, community event to the public, limiting attendance and proximity to attendees is not possible. This cancellation is for the June Cruise Night only. Event organizers will continue to monitor the recommendations to make determinations for each of the remaining Cruise Nights.

Additionally, organizers would like to thank the classic car community for their dedication to the event by offering a photo contest and Facebook Live event from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020. Beginning today through Wednesday, June 3, 2020, individuals can submit a picture of their classic car by messaging the West Fargo Cruise Night Facebook page. These photos will be placed into a photo album and open for the public to vote for their favorite photo by liking it.

The first round of voting will be open Thursday, June 4, through Wednesday, June 10. Following the initial voting, the top 10 photos will be available for final voting Thursday, June 11, through Wednesday, June 17. During the Facebook Live event, members of the Toppers Custom Car Club – including AM970 WDAY radio host Jay Thomas – will count down the top 10 photos and announce the official winner at the end of the event. The winner will receive a prize package.
