January 2016 Salute to Law Enforcement: Jamey Jahner

Trooper Jamey Jahner is a 13 year veteran of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Jamey began his career in 2003 as a traffic trooper in Velva and transferred to Fargo in 2004 as a traffic trooper, the post where he is currently assigned. Trooper Jahner is a dedicated professional, committed to making the roadways of North Dakota safe. His dedication is shown through his educational efforts in the local community and through his enforcement while working out on the highways. Trooper Jahner regularly conducts safety talks to local civic groups, schools and participates in the Cops N Kids Christmas programs throughout the area. Trooper Jahner is a leader in the enforcement of crash causation factor violations to include Driving Under the Influence, Speeding and Occupant Protection In 2014, Trooper Jahner was awarded the North Dakota Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Officer of the Year Award and the North Dakota Motor Carrier Associations Trooper of the Year award, both awards for his contributions to traffic safety. In addition, in 2014 Trooper Jahner was awarded the NDHP Legion of Honor Award for being injured in the line of duty and in 2013 he was awarded the NDHP Colonel’s Award of Excellence for disarming a suicidal motorist that had just committed arson on a residence in West Fargo.
