West Fargo to inspect, clean sewers this summer

The City of West Fargo Public Works Department will be conducting a sewer system cleaning and inspection project throughout the summer months. This project uses high pressure water to clean the sewer pipes and then a camera is used to inspect the City of West Fargo’s sewer system. Homeowner pipes are not included in this project, but will include each property’s connection point to the main line to mark the location.

Property owners may experience a surge of water or lack of water in their sewer trap, which is a fixture in a property’s main drain line that prevents sewer gases from entering the property, when crews are working in their area. This change in water will also include a sewage smell. Residents are encouraged to reach out directly to Public Works at 701-433-5410 regarding any smells or unusual activities they experience to verify it is due to this project.
