February 2016 Salute to Law Enforcement: Detective Mark Voigtschild

Via Fargo Police Department

Detective Voigtschild has been with the Fargo Police Department for over 12 years serving as a detective for the last 7 ½ years. He has been involved in countless high profile cases and has been the lead detective for many of them. Det. Voigtschild oversees our Crimes Scene Investigations (CSI) program by maintaining his own skills and by providing training and education to his peers and our street level CSI’s. Det. Voigtschild has been a detective in every area within investigations to include financial crimes, personal crimes, property crimes, and our Sex Offender Registration Compliance Oversight Program (SORCOP). Det. Voigtschild currently oversees the registration compliance of approximately 275 registered offenders in Fargo. Det. Voigtschild was the lead investigator on several high profile cases in 2015. The one that stands out is his work on the Taco Johns armed robbery. This was a very complicated case which took a tremendous amount of work by many members of the investigations team to resolve. Mark worked countless hours to make sure the case progressed smoothly through the justice system. He worked extensively with our federal partners to help insure the best possible outcome for the victims. This is just one of many examples of the time and effort Det. Voigtschild puts into all of his cases. The residents of Fargo should be extremely grateful they have a detective with this skill and dedication.
