Hoeven Announces Over $875,000 to Support North Dakota Victims of Domestic Violence

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced Wednesday that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded $875,232 to the North Dakota Department of Health. The funds, awarded through DOJ’s STOP Violence Against Women grant program, will be used to develop and support recovery services for victims of domestic violence as well as to equip and train law enforcement in work to combat sexual assault and other cases involving domestic violence.

“Today’s funds will serve as an important resource for law enforcement around our state in prosecuting cases of sexual assault and domestic violence,” Hoeven said. “Also, these resources will help provide care and support for victims of domestic violence.”
