April 2016 Salute to Law Enforcement: Trooper/Canine Handler Tyler Iverson and Lara

Trooper Iverson started his law enforcement career in with the Minnesota State Patrol in 2013 and was stationed in the Thief River Falls District. In the fall of 2014, Trooper Iverson transferred to the Detroit Lakes District, with his primary station being the Moorhead area. Since his appointment as a State Patrol Trooper he has taken on extra job duties to be included with his primary duty of a road trooper. Trooper Iverson has been a field training officer, an accident reconstruction specialist, and most recently a canine handler. Since being partnered with his canine Lara in the spring of 2015, Trooper Iverson has made some significant drug related arrests and drug related property and cash forfeitures. Recently Trooper Iverson and his canine partner received two awards. A Minnesota State Patrol Chief’s Commendation Award for his efforts during 2015 in the areas of traffic enforcement and drug intervention. He also received the United States Police Canine Association 4th Quarter 2015 National Detector Case for a traffic stop that resulted in a large amount of methamphetamine being seized. Trooper Iverson exhibits the Minnesota State Patrols Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Courage, Honor, and Excellence and tirelessly carries out the agency mission each and every day.
