Heitkamp Announces Federal Investment in Bismarck & Dickinson Airports

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp Wednesday announced two federal grants totaling over $3 million in federal funding for infrastructure improvements in Bismarck and Dickinson.

“Transportation infrastructure for a state as geographically large as North Dakota is key to keep every community connected, enable businesses to thrive, and make it possible for residents to travel,” said Heitkamp. “That can be achieved when we make investments in North Dakota’s airports like this federal funding will do for the Bismarck and Dickinson airports.”

These federal funds are dispersed as follows:

  • Bismarck Airport: $2,204,696 in federal funding to reconstruct part of the existing runway and taxiway.
  • Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport, Dickinson: $1,000,000 in federal funding to extend the runway, construct an extension of the taxiway, and the acquisition of additional land. Heitkamp also announced $9,870,000 in federal funding to the Dickinson Airport last week for infrastructure improvements.

This federal funding comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation.
