Dallas Carlson Named US Marshal For North Dakota

 

Senator John Hoeven recently announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Dallas Carlson’s nomination to serve as the U.S. Marshal for the District of North Dakota. Carlson currently serves as the director of the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NDBCI), a position he has held since 2011.

Carlson began his 29 year career at NDBCI as a special agent before being promoted to chief agent and finally director of NDBCI. Prior to his time at NDBCI, he worked for the Devils Lake and Mandan police departments and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. Carlson has a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson State University and has trained at the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy, as well as the FBI National Academy.

Duties of the U.S. Marshal include protecting the federal judiciary, apprehending federal fugitives, managing seized assets, housing and transporting federal prisoners and operating the Witness Security Program.
