Severe storms possible today

 

Severe storms are possible late this evening into the overnight hours.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks says the storms are anticipated to begin firing up late this afternoon and continue through the evening. The primary threats, according to the National Weather Service, are significant wind gusts exceeding 75 miles per hour, hail up to two inches in diameter and brief tornadoes. Localized flash flooding is possible.

The National Weather Service says the greatest chance of severe thunderstorms exist in the late afternoon through the evening hours, affecting eastern North Dakota and portions of northwest and west-central Minnesota.
