NDGOP endorses Baesler for Superintendent of Public Instruction

The North Dakota GOP (NDGOP) has endorsed incumbent candidate, Kirsten Baesler, for the office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction heading into the fall election, according to NDGOP officials.

The NDGOP State Committee held the vote earlier today in Medora. The vote took place following speeches by both Baesler and challenger Brandt Dick. The committee voted to move forward with a letter of endorsement for the incumbent.

“It is encouraging to see the high level of enthusiasm and participation from all of our great Republicans this year. We are looking forward to helping elect Kirsten and all of our Republican candidates this November,” NDGOP Chairman Rick Berg said in a statement.

Baesler has held the position since 2012. Prior to serving as the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Flasher, N.D., native served as president of the Mandan School Board.

In a statement to WZFG/KTGO News, Baesler says she is “grateful to receive the North Dakota Republican Party letter of support today for my re-election campaign.”

She is seeking her third term leading the Department of Public Instruction.

“I look forward to earning the support of voters again in November to continue to work for the interests of students, families and all education stakeholders during this extraordinary time,” Baesler said.
