United Way Starts Their Giving Campaign

650 people got together last week—to celebrate a good cause.

Travis Christopher, Resource Development Director of United Way of Cass-Clay, says that group kicked off their giving campaign, looking to raise $6.25 million.

“We think the community can do it,” Christopher says. “And we’re off to a good start.”

The United Way invests their efforts into four different goal areas—reduce hunger and homelessness, prepare children to succeed, help people become independent and lift people out of poverty.

Within the last year, nearly 300 people have moved into stable housing after receiving services from United Way of Cass-Clay.

Christopher says there are several different programs offered through United Way.

The organization is able to help school districts.

The United Way of Cass-Clay was able to provide the Northern Cass School District with a mental health counselor once a week last year—this year, two days a week.
