Clay County, Minnesota BCA investigating officer-involved shooting

 

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Clay County Sheriff's Office are investigating an officer-involved shooting overnight.

At approximately 1:24 a.m., an officer with the Glyndon Police Department attempted a stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The vehicle subsequently failed to stop for the officer and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit, the officer discharged his firearm at the vehicle. No one was injured in the incident.

An investigation is underway by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, who is being assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says there is no danger to the public.
