Three-vehicle crash reported in Grand Forks

Grand Forks Police say a 42-year-old man flipped the pickup he was driving Sunday evening, causing an accident in the 2400 block of 36th Avenue which involved three vehicles.

Police say at approximately 5:44 p.m., they were dispatched to the scene, where an initial investigation determined a white 2019 Ford F250, owned by Innes Construction and driven by 42-year-old Grand Forks resident Thomas Barendt, was eastbound behind an unknown passenger car. The car moved out of the way to avoid striking a parked vehicle. When this occurred, the Ford F250 did not move, it hit a parked, unoccupied GMC Sierra, which was facing eastbound. The momentum of the crash caused Barendt’s vehicle to flip on its side, pushing the GMC Sierra over the curb and into a parked, unoccupied black Toyota Highlander.

Barendt was cited for care required. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident
