Search for new Fargo Police chief enters next stage

The City of Fargo will take its next step in finding its new police chief at a meeting later today in City Commission Chambers.

According to an agenda from the City of Fargo, the Police Chief Selection Committee will commence a meeting at 1:30 p.m. today to continue with the next step in finding the successor for former Chief David Todd, who retired last week after more than 30 years with the Fargo Police Department.

The agenda calls for a closed executive session today to "discuss confidential applications for public employment with individual candidates selected for interview identified by the selection committee for the Fargo Police Chief."

The executive session is limited to members of the selection committee, Human Resources and City Administration staff, City of Fargo legal counsel and the individual candidate invited to interview with the selection committee.
