The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a fatality crash Tuesday west of Devils Lake.
According to a media release, 47-year-old Trenton Beckedahl, of Devils Lake, was driving a 2014 Mack truck, pulling an empty dry van trailer.
Beckedahl was preparing to turn left from the eastbound lanes of Highway 2 into a business on the north side of Highway 2. A 2016 Kia Sportage was traveling east on Highway 2 and struck the rear of the truck's trailer. The eastbound lanes were briefly obstructed.
Beckedahl was not injured. The driver of the Kia died at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
