Grand Forks Mayor temporarily modifies hours for liquor license holders

 

The Mayor of a northeastern North Dakota city has signed an emergency declaration, temporarily modifying hours of any classed liquor license holders, including bars, bar/restaurants and offsale. Grand Forks

Mayor Brandon Bochenski signed the declaration Saturday evening after participating in a discussion with North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, in Fargo Saturday afternoon.

Bochenski, in a news release, calls the modification a "necessary action" due to an "exponential increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks among the 20-29 age population."

The declaration goes into effect at 11 p.m. this evening, and will require the establishments be closed at 11 p.m.
