UPDATE: Grand Forks Police identify victim in murder case

 

7:38 p.m. update: Grand Forks Police have now identified the victim.

Police say 46-year-old Ram Monger, of Grand Forks, died in an apparent stabbing Sunday night in the 2200 block of 17th Street South, just before 10 p.m.

The investigation into the incident continues, according to Grand Forks Police.

11:43 a.m. update: Grand Forks Police say the victim of Sunday night's apparent stabbing has died.

A charge of murder will be referred to the Grand Forks County State's Attorneys Office against the suspect, 44-year-old Sahadev Ghalley of Grand Forks.

The investigation continues, and authorities say the victim's name will be released in the neature future, as family notifications currently are continuing.

ORIGINAL STORY: Grand Forks Police responded to an unknown nature call Sunday night just before 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of 17th Street South. When arriving on scene, officers found a male in an apartment with apparent stab wounds to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to Altru Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A suspect has been located and has been arrested.

The incident is currently under investigation. It appears to be an isolated and contained incident, with no threat to the community at this time.
