West Fargo Career-Tech administrator honored

 

The North Dakota Career & Technical Education Association (NDCTEA) held its annual conference in virtual format during the second week of August. 

The Association, and its affiliates, presented the conference awards, which recognizes members, supporters, and outside organizations for their contributions to career and technical education. Dr. Denise Jonas was presented North Dakota Career & Technical Education Association (NDCTEA) Administrator of the Year Award. 

In their announcement, NDCTEA stated “[Dr. Jonas] is a tireless leader and advocate for career and technical education and is recognized by educators, business, and industry supporters on the local, state, regional, and national level as a thoughtful and driven person with a vision to make an impact on CTE. She is innovative and always looks for ways to grow, expand, and improve the programs offered to provide opportunities for students to excel in the career and technical fields. 

Dr. Denise Jonas has been an educator in North Dakota for more than 25 years. A graduate of Minot State University and the University of North Dakota, Dr. Jonas has held career and technical education positions at Devils Lake High School, Lake Region State College, and Lake Area Career & Technical Education School. She is currently the Director of the Cass County Career & Technical Education Center. In her current role, Dr. Jonas works to strengthen career and technical education options for high school students in the region by coordinating programs for the four‐member school districts of Central Cass, Fargo, Northern Cass, and West Fargo.
