On Sunday, at 11:20 p.m., the West Fargo Rural Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fully involved detached garage fire at 3591 166th 1/4 Ave SE.
The garage was approximately 15ft from the corner of an attached garage and house. Enroute, units were notified of an explosion within the fire building and requested mutual aid from the Mapleton Fire Department. Upon arrival, crews found a 25×50 detached garage fully involved in fire, and fire extending into the front corner of the attached garage.
A swift fire attack on the extension helped to save the home.
After additional units arrived, including three tankers carrying a combined 7,800 gallons of water, the fire was extinguished.
The attached garage was checked for hidden fires and overhauled. Salvage actions, including removing an SUV and Ranger from the attached garage was conducted as well. The West Fargo Fire Marshal will be conducting a cause and origin investigation this morning.
