Grand Forks Mayor issues mask usage requirement in city-owned buildings

Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski tells WZFG News that he is issuing an emergency order requiring masks to be worn in all city-owned buildings, including the Alerus Center, where early voting for the November election is underway. The order goes in effect at 6 a.m. Monday. The order inclues city-owned busses.

"We are hoping for a safer environment for the older poll workers with 25,000 voters coming through," Bochenski tells WZFG News in a message Friday afternoon. "Of course no one will be turned away from voting."

As far as a longer term mask order, Bochenski says the city's Community of the Whole meeting on Monday will include a discussion on the topic.
