A 34-year-old Portland, North Dakota, man has died in a crash early Friday morning in rural Traill County.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2018 Chevy Silverado, driven by 45-year-old Troy Forsgren, of Mayville, was northbound on 150th Avenue Northeast, approximately one-half mile south of 1stAvenue NE, when his pickup entered the west ditch, and continued northbound, until it struck a field approach.
The vehicle launched over the field approach, and landed on the north side, coming to rest on its top.
The 34- year-old male passenger, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Forsgren was transported to Sanford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Forsgren has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Neither occupant in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, the road conditions were reported as wet and muddy and it was snowing at the time of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
