Students Excluded From Fargo Area Schools Due to Incomplete Immunizations

As of October 1, students in North Dakota needed to receive the required immunizations to be enrolled in school, according to the North Dakota Department of Health.

According to the Century Code, any child not adhering to the recommended schedule must provide proof of immunization or a certificate of immunization by October 1 or within 30 days of enrollment if enrolling after October 1, or be excluded from school or an early childhood facility.

Heather Leas, Public Relations Coordinator at the West Fargo Public School District, says that, as of October 1, 42 children at the district were excluded. The period of exclusion is usually one to three days.

AnnMarie Campbell, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent at Fargo Public Schools, says four students were excluded.
