Blizzard or no blizzard?

What constitutes a blizzard?  Well according to the NWS (National Weather Service)  it is defined as:  a storm with "considerable falling or blowing snow" and winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of less than 1/4 mile for at least 3 hours.  So, with that being said, what are our chances for blizzard conditions later this week?  Well, one thing for sure is the winds will definitely fall into the criteria.  However, the amount of snow is still in question.  Most of our computer models are only putting down an inch or 2.  Even with a small amount of snow like 1-2" we could still have significant travel problems on Friday.  This happened right before Christmas where we had minor snow accumulations but near zero visibility with blizzard conditions. Keep up to date on the forecast for Thursday night into Friday.
