Annual Conference Will Highlight Local Innovators, Serves as Catalyst for Tech Development & Investment

Senator John Hoeven today announced that the head of the Small Business Administration (SBA), Linda McMahon, will keynote his State of Technology Conference this year. The conference, which the senator hosts with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce each year, will be held on the morning of Friday, November 30, at the Delta Hotel in Fargo.

McMahon will join Hoeven in North Dakota so she can learn firsthand about the broad range of innovative technology developments occurring in the state, which have impacts across industry sectors and around the globe. Further, McMahon’s visit will serve as an opportunity for local businesses to benefit from learning directly about the work SBA is undertaking to assist and promote small business growth across the country.

“We’ve built the kind of business climate in North Dakota that empowers innovators and entrepreneurs to succeed,” Hoeven said. “That’s why we continue to expand our leadership in a wide variety of technology developments, including unmanned aircraft, mobile technologies and biotech. The SBA is an important partner in these efforts, providing financial and technical assistance that helps small businesses start and grow their operations. We’re very excited to host Administrator McMahon at this year’s State of Technology Conference. This will provide a great opportunity to identify how we can better leverage SBA’s resources to take advantage of the unique convergences between established industries and tech startups in our state.”
