Local Organizations, Community Leaders Support Dream of Affordable Homeownership

City leaders from Dilworth, Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo will sign a proclamation
designating June as Homeownership Month for each city at 9:30 a.m. June 27. The event will be at a Lake
Agassiz Habitat for Humanity build, 940 Ashley Dr. W., West Fargo 58078.

Press conference participants will include: Dilworth Mayor Chad Olson; Fargo Deputy Mayor Dave Piepkorn;
Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams; West Fargo Mayor Bernie Dardis and Home Builders Association of F-M
President Dustin Murray, Dustin Murray Construction.

The HBA of F-M made a sponsorship contribution and plans to volunteer for this particular Habitat home, which
is in partnership with the F-M Area Association of Realtors. The home is being built for Audrey Dominguez and
her four children. Currently, the family lives in a mobile home that she has been repairing over the past six
years to remove water damage, black mold and bad wiring.

The children are excited about having their own rooms and getting to see the house take shape. While there
are still many unknowns including when the house will be complete, the Dominguez family knows that soon
they will have a safe haven – a Habitat Home to call their own.

The HBA of F-M promotes an environment in which members and their businesses can prosper. It is a non-
profit trade association of over 900 members that has been in existence since 1956. Its public events include
the Spring Parade of Homes, Fall Parade of Homes, Remodeled Home Tour and Red River Valley Home &
Garden Show.
