Grand Forks County Accident Injures One

 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says one person was injured Friday night on County Road 81, two miles south of Grand Forks.

The Patrol says a 2001 John Deere 7710 tractor, driven by 50-year-old Michael Loyland, of Thompson, was driving the John Deere tractor north on the southbound side of Grand Forks County Road 81 (10th St NE), scraping mud off the roadway.

At the same time, a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 22-year-old Evan Anderson, of East Grand Forks, Minn., was driving the Chevrolet south in the southbound lane of County Road 81. The John Deere and Chevrolet collided head on in the southbound lane. Anderson was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital with injuries. Loyland was not injured.

Traffic was diverted around the crash scene for approximately one hour.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
