With just a handful of precincts not yet reported early Wednesday morning, it was time for a celebration for North Dakota’s newest United States Senator, Kevin Cramer.
With 403 of 424 precincts reporting, Cramer held a ten-point lead over incumbent Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp.
Cramer tells WZFG News that he “always felt pretty comfortable” in the race against Heitkamp.
Republicans across the Senate gained seats, according to WZFG’s Scott Hennen, while Democrats lost them.
