Annual Pancreatic Cancer Vigil and Walk set for Thursday, Nov. 15

The Fargo/Moorhead Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Group will host its Fifth Annual Pancreatic Cancer Vigil and Walk on Thursday, Nov. 15, in downtown Fargo. The event aims to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer. It is free and open to the public to attend.

Event registration  begins at 5:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church located at 619 Broadway. At 6:30 p.m., a short program honoring loved ones who have battled pancreatic cancer will be followed by “The Purple Walk.” Participants are encouraged to wear purple – the color of pancreatic cancer awareness. Purple glow sticks will be handed out to illuminate the walk with purple. Participants will walk along Broadway toward the Hotel Donaldson, which will be lit in purple in honor of the walk.

Donations raised this year will help fund patient support programs at Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center (yoga, art therapy, massage) and gas cards for pancreatic cancer patients.
