Cramer: Rugby Hospital Receives USDA Funds for New Mammography Machine

Congressman Kevin Cramer announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Agency has approved a $40,000 loan and a $75,300 grant to the Good Samaritan Hospital Association to improve mammography services for patients in rural North Dakota.

The USDA investment will be used to purchase a 3D mammography machine for the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, N.D. It will allow for patients in the local area to receive state-of-the-art mammography services without having to travel great distances. The other nearest facility for these services is as far away as a 120- to 180-mile round trip.

This is one of 61 projects totaling $503 million in which USDA Rural Development is investing to help improve health care infrastructure and services in rural communities nationwide.
