Former US Agriculture Secretary Dies

 Robert Bergland, Former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture

Former US Agriculture Secretary, Bob Bergland, who resided in Minnesota, died Sunday at the age of 90.

According to reports, Bergland died at a nursing home in his hometown, Roseau. He was recently admitted to the hospital, followed by the nursing home.

Bergland served under President Jimmy Carter. Prior to his appointment as Agriculture Secretary, he served as a member of the United States House of Representatives, from 1971 to 1977.

As of late Sunday night, funeral arrangements were pending. Helgeson Funeral Home of Roseau is assisting the family with arrangements.
