Sheyenne High School Placed in Administrative Lockdown

On Tuesday morning, Sheyenne High School was placed in an administrative lockdown, the second time in less than a week.

According to Heather Leas, Public Relations and School Safety and Security Coordinator at West Fargo Public Schools, the response helped to allow “privacy and support for a student in personal crisis.”

A statement from the school says no students were in danger at any time, nor was anyone harmed.

Leas tells WZFG News that classroom instruction continued as normal during the administrative lockdown. Classroom doors may have been locked, Leas says, based on teacher preferences, but were all closed.

Leas says the goal of any administrative lockdown is to clear hallways to provide privacy for the student and uninhibited access for responders.

The administrative lockdown was lifted mid-morning.
