Hoeven: Creating Good Jobs is Essential to Growing Our State and Communities

Senator John Hoeven, Wednesday, issued the following statement after the U.S. Census Bureau released estimates showing that North Dakota has reached a record-high population. As of July, North Dakota had an estimated population of 760,077 residents, an increase of nearly 5,000 over the previous year.

“North Dakota continues to demonstrate how essential a strong economy is to growing our state and its communities,” Hoeven said. “That’s why job creation has been job number one throughout my time as governor and now in the U.S. Senate. This focus has helped make our state one of the fastest growing since 2010 as well as one of the youngest states in the nation. Americans are looking for better opportunities for themselves and their families, and the policies we’ve advanced to create the right climate for job growth have helped bring folks from across the country to North Dakota and kept them here.”
