Metro Street Crimes Unit Make Arrest in Stolen Vehicle Case

 

On January 9, 2019 at approximately 11:27 a.m., Metro Street Crimes Unit detectives located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Grand In, 3402 14 Ave. S. While detectives were waiting for additional assistance, a second vehicle pulled into the parking lot, driven by the registered owner of the stolen vehicle; a passenger exited the vehicle and got into the stolen vehicle with another person. Andrew John Patrick Collison exited the Grand Inn and started running towards the stolen vehicle. The registered owner of the stolen vehicle hit Collison with the second vehicle, and then the Grand Inn building.  The parties in the stolen vehicle got into the second vehicle and fled the scene. Collison fled the scene on foot.

Fargo Officers assisted with stopping the second vehicle in the 2400 block of 9 Ave. S. The driver and registered owner of the stolen vehicle, Shawn Michael Schwandt, along with three passengers, James Edward Martinez, Michael David Schaffer, and Linda Lou Poitra were removed from the vehicle. Collison was located near the Grand Inn and detained after a short foot pursuit.

Andrew John Patrick Collison, 23 years old of Fargo, was arrested for marijuana possession, refusing to halt, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, false information to law enforcement, and an open warrant.

Linda Lou Poitra, 24 years old with no permanent address, was arrested for marijuana possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of meth (first offense).

Shawn Michael Schwandt, 19 years old of Jamestown, was arrested for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of delta-1 marijuana wax.

James Edward Martinez, 18 years old of St. Thomas, ND, was arrested for ingesting a controlled substance, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of meth (first offense).

Michael David Schaffer, 28 years old of Fargo, was arrested for a probation violation.
