The Clay County Sheriffs Office reports that a nine-year-old Moorhead girl has drowned at Buffalo River State Park.
“The Clay County Sheriff’s Office along with Glyndon Rescue and FM Ambulance were dispatched to the Buffalo River State Park on a report of a possible drowning,” a release said.
The call came into authorities shortly after 4 pm.
When Deputies arrived personnel on scene were performing CPR on a juvenile female. The juvenile female was identified as Grace Elizabeth Bettie, nine years of age, from Moorhead. Lifesaving efforts performed at the scene were not successful.
The family has requested privacy as they go through the grieving process.
The investigation continues and more information will be released at a later time.
