Jamestown Police Capture Dangerous Pit Bull

The Jamestown Police Department’s search for a dangerous pit bull in the community has come to an end.

According to their Facebook page, the department captured the dangerous animal, Blaze, late Friday evening, after it bit a fifth person in Jamestown. The latest victim detained the animal in a garage and turned it over to officers.

On Friday night, officials with the department began searching for the animal, which weighed between 70 and 90 pounds. At that time, the department knew of at least three people who had been bit by the animal in the past ten days, and four since September 2018.

On Friday, a victim at the Buffalo Motel was transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment on serious injuries from the animal.
