Fargo Vet Warns Of Respiratory Infection

The Prairie Winds Veterinary Center of Fargo is warning the F-M community about a respiratory infection outbreak it is seeing. “People will refer to it as "kennel cough," but kennel cough is a lay term that encompasses any infectious respiratory disease that causes a cough,” the veterinary center’s Facebook page said. Prairie Winds says their current cases have been caused by strep equi, which is not covered by kennel cough vaccines currently. The veterinary clinic advises, “If your dog has been to the dog park, boarding, grooming, etc., and develops a cough, be sure to call the clinic, as this infection needs treatment.”
